Introduction

Eleven Guest House is a Victorian terraced house fully central heated with steps leading to the front and back of the house and uses 2 rooms as guest bedrooms. Unfortunately we do not have wheelchair access or chair lift available due to the age and style of the property.

We will endeavour to help with reasonable requests and ifyou have any specific questions please feel free to call us.

Pre-Arrival

Eleven Guest House is situated 5 minutes from central Whitby. The railway station is approximately a 5 minute walk away. Taxis are available close to the station. There is a bus station located in Station square, close to the railway station and again is within walking distance of Eleven Guest House.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

We have a car park to the rear of the property which can take up to 2 cars. We ask that people park considerately to ensure everyone can use this valuable facility. If parking in the restricted space is a problem we are able to assist with this. We do not however accept any liability for any damage caused by taking this course of action.

Check In and Out Times

Guests can check in anytime after 3.00 pm. We would ask all our guests to let us know their anticipated arrival time. Check out time is 11.00 am.

Main Entrance & Reception

There is a long path and 4 steps up to the front door and 6 steps leading to the back yard.
The front door is usually closed therefore please ring the bell on your arrival. We have a large front door which leads into the carpeted hallway. Care should be taken when carrying luggage or bags. The back door is accessible from the car park. We always endeavour to help you with your bags where we can. When guests arrive they are shown through to the dining room to check in and register.

There is a bell in the hallway that can be used to gain attention and assistance. Leading from the main entrance is stairs to the first floor with the luxury private bathroom on the half landing then stairs leading to the Luxury room and Deluxe room.

Public areas

Hallway, stairs to first floor, dining room and guest rooms. The front room, kitchen and second floor are private.

Dining Room

Guests are welcome to use the dining room at any time although it is locked after around 11.00pm for fire safety reasons.
The Dining room has original wooden floorboards, original fire place and is centrally heated.
Breakfast is served in the dining room between 8.30am and 9.30am each morning, with all food being cooked fresh.

Bedrooms

Eleven Guest House has 2 rooms, the Luxury double room with private bespoke antique bathroom down stairs to the half landing and the Deluxe double room with en-suite and Jacuzzi bath.

All bathrooms have a bath, shower, toilet, washbasin and mirror.

The rooms have plenty of character provided by original wooden floorboards, high ceilings and other Victorian features, the Deluxe room has the original fire place. All rooms have LCD flat screen TV’s, tea and coffee making facilities, towels, and complementary toiletries, iron and ironing board and a hair dryer.

All are individually decorated and furnished with additional seating and rugs to wooden floors.
Our beds are made with quality fibre duvets and pillows, quality cotton sheets and quilt covers with spare blankets and bedspreads for use during winter.
There are facilities for hanging clothes and bedside cabinets in each room; all rooms have mirrors and bedside lights.

There is a guest information folder in each bedroom which contains a variety of further information. Additional details about the area and local eateries. There are details on emergency contacts including the local hospitals and doctors.

Wifi is available subject to the location of the receiving computer via a secure router. Password given upon request.

Garden

The garden area is available to guests. A bench is provided in this area, it should be noted that the paving to this area has a rustic uneven finish.

Additional Information

In the event of a fire you will hear the fire alarm. In case of impaired hearing please hang the red sign found on the back of the bedroom door on the door handle.
Exit the building following the fire exit signs (via the main staircase and hallway) to the garden area at the front of the building.
We do not permit smoking in the house or garden. Should you wish to smoke please do so beyond the boundary of Eleven Guest House.
We are happy to cater for special diets where possible. Please advise us of these before your arrival.
Mobile phone usage is ok as most networks have coverage in and around Whitby.
