Whitby 60s Music Festival takes place at Whitby Pavilion Complex, West Cliff, Whitby, in North Yorkshire from Friday 15th until Sunday 17th June 2012.
Acts confirmed include: Amen Corner, Steve Ellis, Barry Ryan, The Stones, and The Revolvers.
Tremeloes, Herman Hermits, Union Gap, and Little Miss 60′s, Alvin Stardust & His Band, Swinging Blue Jeans, and The Shakers.

Tour de France executives will meet and be hosted by Welcome to Yorkshire personnel. Welcome to Yorkshire will try to convince the tour executives that the North Yorkshire coastal area is ideal for the Grand Depart which is the opening stage of the race in 2016.
A decision is expected in May when they visit.
Dalby Forest will host Will Young and Plan B concerts on the 29th and 30th June 2012. Eleven Guest House would make a great place to stay in Whitby for all concert goers.

Whitby Abbey will be open everyday throughout the February half term week (11 – 19 February 2012).
Opening times will be from 10:00 – 16:00. The Abbey will revert to their standard winter opening times after this period.
The snow came and went over the week-end and Whitby is open for business. Also Dalby Forest have waived their £4 entrance fee for a day. The chosen date is Wednesday 15th February 2012 and with the cold but decent weather around it might be worth a visit.

On Saturday 4 February 2012,Staithes and Runswick Bay lifeboat is inviting people to See Our Singers at the Staithes Athletic Club.Sixties and Seventies tribute band Nostalgia will be performing and all proceeds raised will go towards new state-of-the-art life jackets.

The Great Northern Saloon will be running between Grosmont and Goathland daily from Saturday 11th February to Sunday 19th February 2012.
The Great Northern Saloon, built in 1909 will be providing an elegant setting , for you to enjoy the spectacular scenery and surrounding countryside.
Hot and cold drinks and light refreshments will be available on the service starting from Grosmont at 10.30 am and served throughout the day until arrival at Grosmont at 15.50.
